Steven Crabtree believes we are a product of where we came from and who we aspire to be. Born in Oklahoma, raised in Tennessee, and educated at Rhodes College and Yale University, Steve has built his practice by looking out for his clients' best interests -- whether they are just starting out on a new venture or have long-established financial resources that need special care and attention. He is committed to helping people create a sustainable and successful plan, whether those resources are grand or modest, and believes everyone deserves to have an advisor they can trust. He doesn't work for a big bank or investment company anymore. He works for his clients.
After twenty years of ministry and a life-changing transition, Steve started a new journey with one of the nation's largest financial planning firms and quickly became a top advisor. Then, as a Vice President at Merrill Lynch, he earned recognition in Merrill Lynch's elite Executive and Chairman's Clubs, and attended the Walter A. Haas School of Business at University of California, Berkeley for their Executive Education Program, focusing on issues related to Private Wealth Management, Estate Planning, and the Family-Run Business. Steve brings a wealth of skills and interests, including investment and risk management, life insurance and wealth transfer, financial planning and business development to The River Suite. He holds the Series 7 and 66 licenses along with life and health insurance registrations. As a Chartered Retirement Planning Counselor, Steve spends a significant part of his time helping people plan for retirement and work towards reaching that goal. He is excited to join with Cambridge Investment Research, an independent broker-dealer that helps advisors work with integrity, commitment, flexibility, and kindness. The River Suite aspires to be different, and Steve is proud of that.
Folks sometimes see Steve wearing a cowboy hat or playing his Telecaster with a local country band. He enjoys coming to work each day in Middletown, Connecticut. As he says, "It's a great place to be and I invite you to come visit. I am always happy to meet a new client."
